Homemade Guacamole

Guacamole is one of my favorite foods. You can even say this is the reason I like to eat Mexican food. I have been going to Chipotle consistently cause these guys deliver best Guacamole. On the contrary, I stopped visiting Taco truck near our office cause they started serving substandard quality of 'Guac'.

Other day I spotted fairly cheap Avocados(Main ingredient of Guac) in Walmart. I thought why not make Guac at home since I had all ingredients necessary to convert it into restaurant level Guac.

I searched through various online sources for recipe, but naturally the one I trusted was from Chipotle's recipe for Guacamole. I accumulated following ingredients as per instructions and some as per my taste.

Preparation time: 30 Minutes approximately

Ingredients for Guacamole

  • 3 Avocados
  • Teaspoon of salt
  • Green chili
  • Olive oil
  • Seasoning
  • Half chopped onion
  • 1 Cilantro
  • Coconut
  • Teaspoon of sugar
  • Ginger garlic paste (Make sure to fry it first so as to remove all raw taste)
  • Lemon juice
  • Chaat masala (Indian style)

Procedure

  • All you have to do it mash these ingredients together to form a smooth paste
  • Even if Chipotle website says to use potato masher, not all ingredients might get smashed to smoother consistency. (I used grinder set on Grate mode with low intensity)
  • You can add additional lemon and salt as per taste

The reason potato masher will not be enough is onion and cilantro present challenge in creating smooth paste of all those ingredients

  • You can make batches if you have too much of a Guac mixture to grind and add them step by step

When done, pour the Guacamole into glass or china bowl. Serve it fresh or keep in the refrigerator for later use.

Garnish Guac with diced tomatoes, cilantro and chopped onion. You can add black olives around too, to enhance presentation.
